For today’s Film Friday, we’re featuring our video “Fish of the People: Lahontan Cutthroat Trout at Summit Lake.” The video highlights the work of the Summit Lake Paiute Tribe, the University of Nevada Reno, and others to study one of the last self-sustaining populations of striking Lahontan Cutthroat Trout in the remote Nevada desert. It also features the debut of the Smolt Spy, FISHBIO’s first fully-custom piece of automated fish monitoring equipment. The film and a description of the project were recently featured on The Fisheries Blog! You can find photos of the project on Flickr, and can watch more FISHBIO Films on YouTube.
