When it comes to fieldwork in fisheries biology, there’s usually no lack of excitement. During a recent survey on the Stanislaus, getting to the site required navigating some class III and IV rapids. Fortunately we are trained in swiftwater rescue and on this day we emerged a little battered, but not broken.
