Normandeau Associates is seeking a Quantitative Aquatic Scientist in our Portsmouth, NH office. Position is responsible for support in program implementation, data collection, QC, data analysis, interpretation, and reporting for projects that monitor fish populations and assess potential impacts to aquatic species and their habitats from industrial activities. Travel is required, occasional overtime, weekend or evening work may also be required.
Qualified candidates will have a minimum of a M.Sc. in Fisheries, Physical
Oceanography, Aquatic Sciences, Natural Resources, Physical Sciences, Applied Statistics or related discipline, and 4-8 years of experience. Proficiency in using statistical and other technical software (e.g., SAS, R, Matlab, Python, C+, Visual Basic, ArcGIS) for data analysis, publication-quality table/figure production and hypothesis testings required, and project management experience is desired. Desired experience includes fish population dynamics, telemetry, statistical modelling of uncertainty, hydrographic surveys, sonar, ADCP, and/or underwater noise measurements.
