A proposal within the state’s Central Valley Flood Protection Plan has people in southern Butte County riled up.

Butte County Supervisor Steve Lambert said a proposal for a bypass diverting water from the Feather River to the Butte Sink beside the Sacramento River is a long shot, but when the word started circulating about it, people started speculating about what a terrible idea it was.
