Aquatic Research Technician I

This nine month position will support the Stream Habitat Investigationsresearch program. Projects are focused on stream restoration, habitat enhancement, fish passage, and whitewater parks. The position entails various river-related field work and data analysis. Field work will include topographic surveys, electrofishing surveys, hydrologic measurements, and operation of RFID systems, requiring frequent overnight travel throughout Colorado. Survey data will be processed and analyzed with ArcGIS and used to configure hydraulic models for evaluating fish habitat and passage. Additional duties may include analysis of biological and hydrological datasets. The technician will be responsible for maintaining various field equipment.

College degree or coursework in GIS, geomorphology, hydrology, fisheries biology, engineering, and/or ecological restoration. Prior experience working with MS Excel, ArcGIS, HEC-RAS, R, and/or River2D.
