Join a small crew surveying non-game stream fish in the upper Red River basin of Oklahoma and Texas. This job requires strenuous activities, long days working in often inclement weather (extreme heat and cold), extended camping trips and long drives to reach sample locations. Experience working in hot and cold environments and/or competing in endurance activities is preferred. We will conduct extensive and repeated seining surveys to estimate abundance of a species of conservation concern. We will measure aspects of the stream that may affect fish abundance and/or seining efficiency. There is possibility for tasks in the lab dissecting fish, processing and aging otoliths when weather does not permit outdoor sampling.
