Research Associate – Environmental Data Analyst

Summary:
This is a position in the Ecology Group at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL). The successful candidate will participate in various projects where analysis of environmental data is required.  Applicants should have a strong background in environmental science, data analysis using statistical techniques, and programming. Responsibilities include data processing and analysis, and report writing.
The successful candidate will participate in various projects where analysis of environmental data is required.  Applicants should have a strong background in environmental science, data analysis using statistical techniques, and programming.  Responsibilities include data processing and analysis, and report writing. Temporary professional position lasting up to two years.
Qualifications: 
Candidates must have received a Master’s degree within the past 24 months or within the next 8 months from an accredited college or university.  Minimum overall GPA of 3.0 required.
 

The candidate will have a master’s degree in environmental science, biology, fisheries, computer science, math, or a related field. Experience with managing data (MS Excel, SQL), analyzing data (programming), and writing (e.g. reports, publications, thesis) is required. The ability to work well both independently and in a team setting is necessary. Experiences in spatial data analysis (GIS) is appreciated.

The candidate will have a master’s degree in environmental science, marine biology/ecology, fisheries science, computer science, math, or a related field. Preference will be given to candidates who have experience using R and/or Python.
