Legal battles over California water supplies set to escalate with final Bay-Delta Plan

California’s legal battles over water are likely to escalate in 2013, once the Bay Delta Conservation Plan and a water quality plan for the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta are finalized later this year, several attorneys told BNA.

This new wave of lawsuits would add to the already long list of water-related disputes now wending through federal and state courts, many of which could have far-reaching implications for government agencies that manage water resources, water users, and the environment.
