Fish is the main source of nutrition for Cambodians, and to protect the health of the people, Dr. Eang Sophalleth, Minister of Environment, is preparing to launch the Tonle Sap Lake Clean-up Campaign on March 1, 2024, following the success of the first phase of reducing plastic waste on land through the campaign “Today! I do not use plastic bags,” with the participation of more than 4 million people and students.
He made a statement during a courtesy call and learned about the priorities of the Ministry of Environment to strengthen better cooperation between the United Nations for Project Services (UNOPS) and the Ministry of Environment at the Ministry on February 12, 2024.
Ms. Eda Kraja, Country Manager for Cambodia-Laos of UNOPS, briefed the Minister on the objectives of the meeting to continue and strengthen cooperation with the Ministry of Environment in accordance with the Environmental Chakra Strategy 2023-2028.
