Fishermen made an exciting discovery last week when they caught four rare Giant Barb fish in the Mekong river.

Wonders of Mekong reported that each fish weighed between 15 and 21 kilogrammes.

The Giant Barb fish is a national symbol of Cambodia and one of the largest species of freshwater carp in the world.

Wonders of Mekong, a conservation group, announced the good news this week on its Facebook page.

Fishermen have been boosting their skills and know-how to boost conservation efforts and help meet the goals of the Wonders of the Mekong Project.
