The Lewiston Tribune —
Washington will open a two-day-a-week spring chinook salmon fishing season below Little Goose Dam starting May 5 with an estimated harvest quota of about 500 fish.
Fishing will be allowed Tuesdays and Fridays with a bag limit of four hatchery chinook per day of which no more than one may be an adult fish — those 24 inches or longer.
As in past years, fishing will be allowed between the Texas Rapids boat launch (located on the south side of the river upstream of the mouth of the Tucannon River) upstream to the fishing restriction boundary below Little Goose Dam.
Fisheries managers are not anticipating seasons near Clarkston nor the Tri-Cities.
As of Wednesday, about 5,000 spring chinook had been counted at Bonneville Dam on the Columbia River and 11 at Little Goose Dam.
