Description:
This position involves collaborating with tribal, state, and federal agencies in field investigations and analyses focused on fisheries and habitat. The role requires managing the acquisition, maintenance, and use of scientific equipment and supplies, and assisting in the design and implementation of biological studies. The candidate will be involved in collecting and analyzing biological data to assess the environmental impacts of land and water use, and will prepare detailed reports to document findings. This position also includes responsibilities for preparing grant applications and managing budgets.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with other agencies in field investigations and analyses, and assist in the design and implementation of biological studies.
Manage the acquisition, maintenance, and use of equipment and supplies, and oversee equipment maintenance schedules.
Collect and analyze data to assess environmental impacts, organize findings, and prepare detailed written reports.
Supervise, train, and mentor staff, including planning, assigning, and reviewing their work, identifying training needs, and overseeing their professional development.
Prepare grant applications, manage project budgets, and maintain accurate technical records.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships, and adapt to flexible work hours, including weekends as required.
Qualifications:
Proficient in writing reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
Experienced in grant writing and budget management.
Able to effectively present information to diverse groups.
Skilled in compiling and analyzing data.
Experienced in supervisory roles with strong leadership skills.
Excellent computer skills are essential.
Previous experience in a Native American environment is preferred.
Salary: $59,514-$85,340 (DOE)
