Description: FISHBIO is seeking a Wildlife Biologist/Technician familiar with California Central Valley ESA species and proficient in Western bird identification to join our staff in Oakdale, CA.
Responsibilities:
Tasks include, but are not limited to:
- Field data collection
- Working with others to perform pre-construction and protocol level surveys for local special status wildlife species
- Monitoring construction activities
- Performing inspections of wildlife exclusionary fencinAssisting with nesting bird and roosting bat surveys
Requirements/Basic Qualifications:
Must hold a bachelor’s degree in wildlife biology or a related field with a minimum of 1 year of field experience or a master’s degree in the same area. The right candidate will have a general knowledge of anadromous fish and resident salmonids, endangered species consultation, habitat assessment, or water resources.
Experience and physical ability to collect field data are required:
- Must be in good health and able to lift 50 lbs
- Ability to work independently at times and have excellent communication and technical writing skills are a must
- A flexible work schedule is required, as assignments on occasional weekends, and/or holidays are anticipated
- Must possess a valid driver’s license
